Over the weekend, I was having coffee with my boyfriend and two of his bodies. The conversation led to eating habits after a few jokes about the cookies and muffins brought to the table. It was amazing to see how different male perspective is from the female's. We are wired completely different.
If I were with my gals and looking for some fun, we'd probably be like "uwww let's have some beer with some fries", or "yeaahhh let's go to that cheesecake place" and then we would add "ohh well we will exercise tomorrow". As I was sipping on my tea and chatting yesterday in the male dominant crowd, I couldn't help noticing how easy it sounds for some people to keep a healthy eating habit. Just to give an example; for my boyfriend, eating healthy is an effortless act, he loves eating healthy and surely blogging about being healthy. Where as for me, I need to put extra effort in to eating healthy, and the more I try, the worse I crave french fries.
I sometimes think and wonder, all those healthy eaters, were they once a fries junkie like me? or always a healthy eater at heart, or will it ever come to me as an effortless act to eat healthy?
If any of you out there have a story to share or have cool tactics for a gal like me to include in her daily routine to eat healthy and act smart, please let me know.
Stay healthy you all........

Temptation is hard to resist, or not? I love eating certain types of food, for me eating is not just to get the nutrition I need to survive, it is fun!, a delightful experience with the whole package. For example french fries, I love them, I am aware that they are not good for me as for anyone, and I am aware that I cannot, because I should not, be consuming them as often as I'd like. So I developed this trick. Everytime I am out to have a beer, or about to order a side dish for a sandwich I order a salad and finish it no matter what before I order what I crave for (yep, fries mostly) , if I still want to have fries even after the salad, I let myself order fries. Almost always, since I fill up so quickly,I am too full to for such an affair. Even if I order them, I can never eat more than a couple.
This trick has been working for me. I am sure you can develop your own tricks for your own food weaknesses. Remember, desperate times call for desperate measures.
Stay healthy....

Weight loss can only be done if you want to do it. You are the sole decision maker; your wife may think you need to lose 10 lbs, your doctor may highly recommend that you drop 20 lbs, and yet you think you are fine? Unless you realize there is a problem, there is no problem. But if you realize that your weight is a problem for you heart, for your knees, for your health, than it is a problem. The most important state is actually to acknowledgment of the problem.
The next step is to decide if you want to solve this problem or just keep living with it. In my humble opinion, it will be harder to live with the problem so I suggest you better work on solving it. In order to solve any problem, you need to take a look in to your behaviors, your eating and exercise habits.
They say that it takes 21 days to break or start a habit, so for starters whatever your weekness is, you can consantrate on it for the next 21 days. You don't exercise? Start walking for the next 21 days while gradually increasing the load of effort. You eat french fries every day? For the next 21 days don't. I personally tried this for chocolate, and yes I survided and yes now I do not crave chocolate as much as I used to.
Start from August 1st and by the third week of August, I guarantee you that you will improve at least one thing in your life, and as a firm believer of the necessity of the constant effort to improve self being to increase the quality of life, I highly recommend this 21 day exercise to break the bad habits and form good ones.
